I don't know. If you have the time and persistence, you can get them on chat, but other than that, I'm out of ideas.
At least you got a reply . . . I've sent him two messages already, and received nothing back at all. Evidently he is ignorant of copyright law, or he just wants to wrangle over this.
Completely agree, first retain counsel!! You'd be surprised what a legal document with an attorney letterhead or whatever can accomplish. Often it's all that's needed.
I'm sad. He don't like me. New message from: alexfinecoins (1,229) My customers kobw about my honesty..i have more than 700 item on ebay..just this one happens to have that jack name probably by mistake.mind your Owen business.
It depends how you sent the message. If it was all nice and in small letters, then he probably thought, "Ha! Look at this guy trying to sweet-talk me..." I sent it in all caps and I was basically downright honest and to the point with it and he replied pretty quickly. I agree with the others, you should try to file some report on him to legally stop him because I don't think an army of CoinTalk members sending him messages will do it by the looks of it. His ego seems to be larger than the Universe!
I spoke with eBay this morning after I sent him my first message. Not only did I ask them to make sure my trademark was taken down, but I also asked them to figure out why I cannot add the registered symbol to my trademark. They indicated they'd deal with the subject listing immediately after the phone call, and that they'd have a technical person contact me Monday regarding the symbol issue. So much for follow through on eBay's part. That's why I've gone from about 100 items listed on eBay last year to 35 now, and from 0 items on USA Coin Book last year to 50 now.
It's yet another site where you can buy and sell coins. I like the way it's structured, although it's pricing is not as current as it could be, and search functionality is much stronger on eBay than on USA Coin Book ( I like typing USACB for short). What I like most is that it is dedicated to coins, and not to myriad other types of merchandise, so they are much more responsive to users who want to keep it from being tainted by counterfeits, fraud and unscrupulous practices. Doubtless, they'd also be much quicker to deal with theft of IP theft or copyright / trademark infringement, as is being discussed here.
Don't feel too bad Larry . . . he's apparently not worth your friendship. I'm curious as to how he comes up with that "jack name" by mistake.
Meanwhile that coin is scratched and cleaned and if it is AU, it is AU-Details. How good of a name can he have if he is trying to sell a $20 coin for $90?
I'm thinking it's a $40 coin. His listing. A rare seated silver dime in choice au condition.no rim nicks or scratches.bold liberty and details.full head.very little wear if there us any.
