This might be a dumb question

    I know this is probably a dumb question but is this a mint error? Or post damage? The only reason I ask is because the edge Is damaged but the rim is not at all.

    You have it reversed; the rims are damaged but the edge is not. A coin has 3 sides; the obverse, the reverse, and the edge. The rims are the raised portions around the outside of the obverse and reverse.

    Coin has post mint damage. Looks like it spent time on the ground being run over.
