There are five major varieties found in the war nickels. The two shown above, the 1945-P TDR and the two shown below.

I would love to one day own a war nickel that still had luster to it. heck, even if it wasn't that burnt black color it would be great. I only 3 thus far, but I will always keep them!

    NICE Nickels all.

I do have the 43 series in FS grade at MS66. I will try to build them up to the full set

This is somewhere else on this thread; I decided to reshoot it. These pics bring out the gold toning much better. IMAG0378-vert.jpg

Those 43-S nickels are some of the best struck in the series. This one has a dynamite strike.

    I don't take pics.

I do love the pic above! Cool

I found a "S" war nickel about a couple weeks ago. I was delighted. It was in one of my rolls. I searched over 2,000 nickels that time around (just over $100 face).
    Fun!

I love these coins gbroke. I only have one high grade nickel, a 1943 ms 66 or so, and am in the process of buying more.

How about a bit of toning? I got this beauty for a fair cheap price. Nice coin though the building looks like kids vandalized and egged the place.

    Great nickels all!

I like to buy those nice albums filled with unc Jeffersons when I find them with really nice coins in them. As pointed out they can be had for about $100 for the whole set.
