    It was the cream filling between two other coins and then smashed together in a vice or press.

    Damaged, but still worth one cent.

    Imho, it’s definitely a real penny!
    An error or variety ?not likely.
    Looks like a coin that someone decided to squish a couple coins together.

    @Matthewg24 it is not a Mint Error, just post mint damage.. The very bored person who created it would have the answer on why they would do this to a real Cent.
