    the degree of rarity reported to the 4100 coins hoard described above :

    3 coins-RIC 2b compared to 56 coins-RIC 12b

    Glad I found this thread, was wondering myself if that really was a donkey's head mounted to the staff. Some lovely examples in this thread as well, here's my contribution!

    Adding another draco:

    Trajan Decius (249-251 AD), AR Antoninianus, Rome mint, AD 250-51, Sear 9368 (3.5 g, 21 mm)

    Obverse: IMP C M Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG, radiate, draped, & cuirassed bust right

    Reverse: DACIA, Dacia standing left, holding Dacian standard surmounted by wolf's head (Draco)
