The fact that NC Mint already went through this once...in 2004 with the Northern Mariana Islands WTC Dollar. The claims about the WTC silver use center against NC Mint were dropped. Also, any entity can issue dollars as non-circulating legal tender. But the use of WTC silver is so insignificant it doesnt matter anyway.

No it isn't because the coin is a Liberian coin and their currency is denominated in Dollars as is the currency of many other countries.

As I have pointed out earlier the easiest way around the "Is the silver really from the WTC?" is to use silver eagles out of PCGS deathcoin slabs. Then when you are asked you can point out that" PCGS certified that it was. Take it up with them." One "Death coin" silver eagle will provide enough silver to make 2000 of these things. And you alloy that coins silver with outher silver and you would still be telling the truth because some of the silver on the coin came from the WTC. (This is common practise with "made from" relic pieces. the metal from the relic only makes up a small part of the alloy. The key is the items are "made from" and not "made wholly from" the material from historic item or site.)

The fact that it is or isnt silver from WTC is not a make it or break it deal for me. I really didn't even look past that claim. Though I think NC Mint has been in enough hot water to not lie about something when it is easy to get silver from there. WTC silver could mean any coin that has been in the towers at any time in history I assume.

After all this .... the medal that was finally released is rather plan if unattractive. At least a flip coin is somewhat creative.

Rzage, could come a day when those coins from your sister become priceless instead of worthless, simply because they are from her. I'm glad you won't tell her!Lucy

This post reads like one of those 30 minute infomercials.

These are trinkets, at best. They are the epitome of Granny Bait.
