Thank you. It was a unique situation and I knew I wasn't being taken advantage of. The guy died about a year later and I just hope he benefitted from buying that car at the time.
I have given wallets back saved baby ducks painted a orphanage in Korea sat at bed sides. The usmc taught me life is very very short. do you know R E Ermey my neighbor was just like him .
I was about 11-12 y/o (50 years ago). My buddy and I would go to our local banks for CRH'ing. I gave the teller a $5 bill and asked for a roll of dimes. She gave me ten rolls of dimes. Not sure how her logic worked. I got home and I did check all the rolls for silver. After finding a few worth saving I did go back to the bank and returned the extra $45 to the teller who messed up. As stated, I was just a kid, 11-12 years old, and she didn't even so much as thank me. I felt good about returning it, but more importantly, she taught me a life lesson. I've been gracious and overly thankful to people who go out of their way for me. I wasn't happy about being shunned and knew how others would feel. Do unto others became my mantra.
Honesty always the best policy. One time I drove up to a drive in banking place at my regular bank to make a deposit. The plastic football came back with like $600 in cash that I had not asked for. I simply held it up for the window person to see and sent it back. She was very thankful that I did that, probably saved her job.
