Usually they are even worth less than what the collector paid for them. Because for every one of those common date, mid or low grade coins in your collection, that dealer already has 10 or 15 of them in his inventory. And he&#039;s offering to sell them for the same amount, or less, than what you the collector want him to pay you for your coins.</p><p><br /></p><p>Of course if you walked in there and just offered him the keys and semi keys from every series you own, you&#039;d get offered what you thought was a fair price. But then you&#039;re stuck with everything else that you can get nothing, or almost nothing, for.</p><p><br /></p><p>And trying to sell your collection to other collectors, rarely does that work. Those other collectors already have the same coins you have, they don&#039;t want them either. The only coins they want are the keys and semi keys - just like the dealer. And if it took you a lifetime to assemble that collection, it will also take you a lifetime to sell it to other collectors for that reason. So rarely is selling to other collectors a viable option when push comes to shove.</p><p><br /></p><p>It may sound harsh, but that is reality.
