Thinking about doing a mid to high grade Braded Large cent set

And his late dates (Braided hair) in early 2010.

Shawn is a good guy but I'm kinda ticked off at him right now. He out bid me in the Dan Holmes sale for the low grade S-113 lot 191. (estimated at $250 and Shawn got it at $725. I was the underbidder at $700.)

Tom Reynolds is a great guy, he was representing me at the Holmes and Naftzger sales.

Did get one piece out of the Naftzger collection. An 1846 N-18 Sixth finest known of the variety and with a decent Pedigree Dr French, Mehl, Ted Naftzger

Congrats are in order... a magnificent coin ! Just glorious.

For those new to copper ... occasionally, you'll hear the term "hard surfaces". This coin has excellent "hard surfaces".

Another thing... some folks make much of the color designations BN, RB, and RD. This coin was probably graded BN, yet has fabulous color. Buy the coin, not the color designation !

 

I once was going to try that only in higher grades. Then I checked out my bank accounts, stocks, the sale of my house, all my cars and figured I'd put this one off for a few more years.
