The weak D is almost gone due to abrasion as you can see in the last pic but you can still barely make it out and the key PUP die scratch in front of the arrow tips is there!

Wire rim on the right side of Obverse?
Is there scalloping at 12:00 on the reverse?

    I don't think this is a Weak D.

I don't think it is there. At least, I don't see any of the marks I look for. Any pics of the obverse?

I did have one I had to submit twice at ngc before they recognized it as a weak D. It's scary they said no once, then yes the second time. I have another one I am still convinced it is one, but so far they have said no. I might post it here in a bit if I can find it in my pile of normal 1911's.

You never want to be known among the ladies as the guy with a Weak D.

And some can turn a weak D into a D, I am a little skeptical of the D on either coin shown.

Sorry Chris. I just don't see the scalloping along the edge of the coin on the reverse that should be present for a Denver mint 1911 coin.

@jwitten I think you got the short end of the stick on that one. It looks good to me.

Maybe "Rare Ed" was busy reprimanding his assistant for another "mistake"

Spare the rod.... spoil the assistant! It's just so hard finding good help these days...
