    I am a day late, but I hope you had a great birthday.

    Thank you for sharing that with us... it is very moving! Nothing in this life saddens me more than the terrible lost of life during those wars - all because lying bastards couldn't keep their traps shut.

    May we succeed in preventing it this time around. I will not be holding my breath, but may we succeed for the sake of us all. We will have to reach deep down and refuse to slaughter our brothers - part of my blood is German, part of my blood is British and part of my blood is French. I will outright refuse to fight my brothers, regardless of where they find themselves in the world. If I get labeled a traitor and get killed for it. So be it. At least my soul will rest easy... for the eternity to come.

    I just remembered that famous saying of the German ruler by that time:

    " Das habe ich nicht gewolt" .. I did not want that to happen.
