It wont hurt to set aside a few pristine examples. The high grade coins going for thousands on Ebay were pocket change yesterday. In my lifetime, gold, then silver, disappeared from coins. Then even copper. As current cents have only a copper wash. Silver coins sell for far more than face, as does gold. Cents and nickels cost more than face value to make. People make a living selling wheats, nickels, and state quarters. As a new collector, you can acquire some coin albums, nab some rolls at the bank, and fill up your albums. You can probably find 95% of what you need for face value. One day, years from now, you will be looking at a MS 69 quarter on Ebay being bid into the thousands, and tell yourself, I could have had that for 25 cents! Coins are almost obsolete. And I think it will probably kill the hobby.
Grammar has never been a strong point for Cointalk users. If my English teachers were on this site there would be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I suggested I sell some clad coins to exchange for silver coins, sometimes. or I buy cooler clad ones. but I also suggest I spend more than I make on coins. MY TREASURE< Hahahaha oh.
Ditto on the welcome. The San Francisco Mint quarters are even shinier. That's because they're proof coins. I buy one of these for every new issue, and have all 49 of them that have been issued so far. These are available from ebay sellers who ship them out within days of issue. Here's a set of all 5 of the 2019 issues (I have no connection to this seller): https://www.ebay.com/itm/2019-S-Nat...910406?hash=item3404727946:g:xBoAAOSw5qJcL1e6
I gave up on this years ago. The one that irritates me the most, though, is the misspelling, definiately.
yea true, they don't make it to hardly anyone unless you buy a roll, lol, I lived in Baton Rouge for a couple years. but im in Missouri same thing.
Nice catch @-jeffB, I missed that. Just because the coin is in OGP doesn't mean it's MS70. Can you please explain your comment @Robert91791?
