I was looking at this neon colored Indian Head, but after looking at all of this guys listings, it seems that these are all possibly artificially toned. What do the experts think? http://www.ebay.com/usr/fandi32?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
They're AT. I've messaged him. I've seen a couple he said he toned himself that ended up in a graded PCGS holder.
Plus, he's certainly off on the wrong foot, charging $1.99 to ship one penny. For a very secure mailing, I charge 50 cents, up to and including quarters. Half dollars require 70 cents.
Just out of curiosity, how do you ship? I sell coins I pull from the unsearched junk I get from my dealer. He is too big to take time to search. He only removes Barber stuff. I am going through the last $300 or so face value I purchased slowly when I get bored. Here is a link to one of the coins I have going now...but how do you pack and ship? http://www.ebay.com/itm/281349287474?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Costs me $1.93 postage to send the cheapest bubble mailers I have. He seems pretty up front about his stuff and offers a two week return. If you don't like them nobody is forcing you to buy. Just my 2 cents on the subject.
Well at least he is honest about it! That's more than I can say for most of the crooked sellers on ebay
I looked at a couple of the quarter listings and didn't see any mention of how the coins were toned. Where did I miss this? BTW, all AT.
I agree...I was trying to find an example of him stating how these coins became toned and I couldn't find a single listing. That said, they are certainly AT.
When one finds those obviously "Neon" type of toning on coins, it is almost always created by artificial means, and not NT. Natural toning has more gradual patterns, and more transitional aspects to it--the "day glow" colors are rarely seen in NT coins. Figure that all of the raw stuff like that on E-bay is AT.
