these clipped coins

    Chris, in some cases I wonder if a planchet gets bounced loose and earns its' clips as a Free Range coin, so to speak. :)

    The very first image in the opening post (clips3.jpg) the middle cent has a serrated edge. This was made by passing a rounded edge file over the coin to make that effect. (PMD) at least on that coin.

    The goofball that did it even managed to round off the corner at 9:00, not something that would happen from a punch.

    If you see that serrated edge at any point on any coin, it was made with a file not a punch.
     
  4. Thanks for the feedback, everyone...seems like a split decision on the triple clipped Nickel, confident opinions in either direction, I guess my photos left a lot of room for debate, fair enough, I could use a clearer camera, or maybe some coins just need to be seen in person.
