OK. When there is a sunny weather - I will make a photo of a collection of coins of the Roman Empire and a little Ancient Greece, and also my latest hobby - a portrait on antique tiny coins.....It awakes soon.
It is my small modest collection. 1. Roman Empire. 2. Ancient Greek World. 3. Antique portraits on tiny coins. Sorry, there are hair of my cat, he didn't allow to do me a photo.
Welcome to C.T, Viacheslav! You seem to have a very nice collection. Many interesting roman bronzes in that tray. If you get a chance, please show us the reverses of those coins. The asse of Galba and Vitellius for example look very nice. Also the Titus sestertius. Congratulations and again, welcome!
That's a very nice mix of Greek and Roman coins!! It seems you are a 'generalist' like most of us and I'd be happy to include yours among my own. After a while you will notice many threads of Roman Republican coins and I'm sure you'll want to include a few among your collection as well. So many of mine are varieties of coins posted by other members---we do seem to cost each other quite a bit of money over time LOL
That is an excellent group and exactly the kind of selections that I seek. Of course I am sure you realize there is a joker in the group but we should mention for the benefit of new collectors here that the Caesar Veni Vidi Vici is a modern fantasy. A question: Where you live, are there many people who collect these coins or do you have trouble finding someone you could show these trays who would appreciate them to any degree? I live near two clubs for coin collectors totaling over a hundred members but only two or three there would be able to a single coin from these really clear examples. Two or three more might be able to say which tray was the Greek and which the Roman but most members are better schooled in the current market price for US nickels of the last century. Coin Talk provides people like me the opportunity to correspond with other people who care for what we have in common even when they live thousands of miles away. Thank you for sharing your excellent collection.
Thanks. I will be glad is in your list. The Roman coins are pleasant to me as the image of great emperors and as the best school of metalgraphics, and Greek - the variety in animals, birds, gods and plants.
I know in I in a collection have joker, but many have told me that it is Paduan. But all the same he is pleasant to me because he beautiful and I won't find the present. Where I live in the city there are many collectors of coins, and in Russia in many big cities - in Moscow, St. Petersburg there are many collectors of antique coins. We correspond with each other, we conduct exchange of coins and we buy coins at the Russian auctions. Also I sometimes buy antique coins at Internet auctions.
I have understood you - it is "stop", but I wanted to tell "hello". https://rutube.ru/video/594a2f7d4d7fd1512a28e944be506455/
