These were sold as a set in the original wrapper - famous amongst Notgeld collectors because of the ducat defecating donkey on the 2 Mark note.

What's not to love about a dragon zealously guarding it's treasure on the reverse?

I used to dislike getting those older 1992 bills in circulation. They were released at the same time as the 1996 notes when the hryvnia was finally introduced into circulation after the farcical "karbovnets" play money issues that circulated before. These 1992 notes were printed in Canada if I remember correctly while the 1996 notes were printed in either Luhans'k or Kyiv and were a more "Ukrainian" design.

Mine is the earlier 6 digit serial number, a lot more expensive. The later 7 digit serials were issued in 1922-3 when inflation pretty much had destroyed any value the notes had.

Interesting, I did not know that @scottishmoney. I shouldn't be surprised considering how dire the economic situation was in post-war Germany.

I found one from a U.S. seller in less than stellar condition. I have been avoiding buying anything that may have to go through the CBP in New York. A few items have been "lost" along the way so I go local when possible. Would not be a big loss in this case and probably not even looked at but I am done with it. Lost about $500.00 over the last few years. Enough is enough.
