People used to do it all the time before the Internet came along. Heck, if you're nervous, then have the police accompany you to his residence.</p><p><br /></p><p>The simple fact of the matter is that the person who started the thread because of legitimate concerns that he had, as well as any other person who might have sent money to this person, is now aware of a few things they might not have known before. Hopefully they can use that information to make an educated decision as to what they will do next.</p><p><br /></p><p>Has anyone been scammed? I don't know for certain, but it sure does seem as though something fishy is going on. In an effort to help the good people of cointalk, I made it known that I believe they might have been scammed. If that's why the thread got locked, so be it. I'm not going to tippy toe around an issue like this for fear of hurting HCSC's feelings. He's (presumably) an adult and can defend himself. If I were in his shoes, I'd have been all over that thread doing just that.</p><p><br /></p><p>The thread is still there. Anyone who is involved can still read what was written. Nothing has been lost, except his name and mailing address that was posted, but anyone involved would likely know that. The brief time that it was available led to the discovery of other business names and websites that he's used to either sell coins or operate a TPC. All of which adds to the overall fishiness of the situation.</p><p><br /></p><p>I don't see how anyone "played directly into his hands". I don't even see where anyone could be accused of libel if that's where you were headed. Everything I wrote was either verifiably true or stated as opinion.</p><p><br /></p><p>I'm sorry that you got caught up in this and I hope you've already filed a formal complaint with the USPS or the FBI or whoever else might handle these type of situations.
