The value of never giving up

As a further update to this topic, yesterday I was in a small MN town, population maybe 4,000. They had an antique mall with coins advertised so I figured what the heck. Went in, lots of chotsky. Found the coin guy, he said he had some displays of coins. Looked at them and just crap. Asked him again if he had ancients, and he said maybe 2-3 in the front display case, but he never gets them here in this town. Went and found the display case, and there was a common Constantius II for $60, a terribly corroded tet for $150, and a little Cleopatra VII 40 drachm piece. It was VG obverse, and F+ reverse. I walked out of there with it in my pocket for $80.

So 6 months ago I didn't have either of these Alexandria mint coins of Cleo VII, and because of going out of my way at oddball places I now have both denominations, for much less than I would have expected. Moral simply is take time wherever you go. You simply never know where a little jewel might be hidden.

Never had any luck myself trying that, but you are 100% correct. Never give up you never know where than next cherry pick might come from. Congrats on your new pieces.
