Nobody forces your hand.... </p><p>The way some of these 90% silver state quarters sell in the after market one would almost think that the mint isn&#039;t giving you such a shabby deal. I see some of those 5 coin year sets selling for like 80 bucks slabbed by NGC. I would never pay those prices if I wanted those coins.... I would just by the mint sets... They are a better deal.</p><p><br /></p><p>Proof Gold and Silver Eagles are also not that bad of a deal if you are into that type of thing. The gold eagles especially come in pretty nice holders. Personally I think some of their prices are pretty reasonable, but if you chase after everything they have you might get a raw deal overall. Some stuff you should purchase in the secondary market, and other stuff from the mint. </p><p><br /></p><p>My personal advice would be to stay away from the mint altogether because most everything you get from them is produced in such large quantities that it is worthless from a numismatic standpoint. That is not always true, but by in large I think you will not see your money appreciate when you purchase mint products.
