This coin really appealed to me when I first saw it in Mark Feld's inventory, but Lee beat me to it. A few years later I was lucky enough to purchase it from Lee (along with a few other coins) at the same price, and I was happy to do so. I also suspect I won't have much trouble getting rid of it and at least breaking even, but time will tell.....

Seasnake wins. I paid $1250. Interestingly enough, after looking at Heritage archives to try and get a gauge on the values in today's market versus that of years past, I came across this auction listing in 2004: http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=277&Lot_No=7838#Photo I submit this is the coin I now own, and it sold for $897 in 2004. It is a bit dark, and this darkness does impact the luster in some areas. Then again it's only a 64, so I can live with it. My sense is that I overpaid a smidge, but frankly was happy to do so. Isabella's are found toned quite often, but rarely in a way that appeals to me.
