Good morning everyone! I thought it would be interesting to learn how some of you would respond knowing that it was a private transaction rather than an auction. I wish I had made it apparent from the beginning that I would be curious to know your responses for, both, private transaction and auction, not that auction estimates would have any bearing on the outcome, but just to see how the guestimates might change. I thought the comments regarding the deep color and luster were interesting. What has me most curious is how this color formed. I'm wondering if this color isn't what some of the Tid-E-Bowl Morgans might develop into if they were to remain in the original storage conditions for a considerable length of time. I have several of the TB's, and it seems that they always begin with an irridescent blue around the rim with a honey-colored center. Is it possible that the blue expands into the central part of the coin until it completely envelops it? The small sliver of honey in the center of this coin makes me wonder. Anyway, I purchased this coin and two other nice toners at the same time from Shane. He had sent me photos of his latest acquisitions, and I asked him if these were for his personal collection or if they were to be auctioned on eBay. They were for eBay. I can't thank Shane enough for letting me have them because I think he would surely have made more from the auctions. I had really expect that someone would hit it "on the nose" since it was a private sale. Bahabully almost did, but he recanted and changed his guess after reading Duke's comment about my "frugality". So, the person who came closest to the actual price was......................coinman456 with $275. The actual price was $250, and I feel that it was worth every penny. Coinman, you now have the privilege of posting another coin or passing this along to another person. If you choose to pass it along, let's try to get someone who hasn't had a chance. Thanks everyone!
