Beautiful coin.... I don't think world coins draw nearly as much premium as US coins (speaking of bubbles), but given it's a pop 1 I'll add two zero's and say $100 even.
hey seasnake ... since you use teletrade, is there a way to have coin images come up after a search (rather than a bunch of links) ... i find it so annoying that I have to click on every single link to see all the searched coins
I don't know, I generally don't "search" on TT, I have a few issues that I am buying currently and I really only care about color not particular dates so I just scroll thru the various denominations that interest me. This year its silver washies, mercs, 1/2 cents and certain foreign.
Since our last winner did not post a new coin, I will throw this up here. How much did this 2-sided color toned morgan sell for?
ANSWER on the 1888 Morgan ... $245 rlm was the closest Although I do think a fair market valuation on this coin is probably closer to the $180 to $200 range So excellent guesses all!
That's beautiful blu62!! I like the luster and gold toning. Plus you get toning on 2 sides with a rainbow on the reverse. So the PCGS price guide values an untoned MS65 at $225 -- since premiums compress on higher grades (with higher $ starting points) and since you bought it at a coin show and not an auction (where a frenzy can sometimes develop) I will say you bought this for $325. However I bet if this was on ebay, it would have popped somewhere between $400 and $450.
Grey sheet bid on the '85-O is $195 and was probably a bit lower in Dec. '10. Great color but with the luster grazes on the cheek, darkness around the date and toning irregularity on the reverse left, I'm going to stay conservative with $290. BTW I really like the rev. toning; nice pickup.
