It's not as nice as some of the coins pictured in this thread, but I just got this beauty today and I'm really happy with it:

It's housed in an old 3rd generation NGC holder, MS65. Feel free to price guess

I think the term juicing with regards to toned coin images commonly refers to additional contrast and color saturation adjustments in post processing and does not typically refer to using a strong light source though I agree that strong lighting can some times make a coin look "juiced". The way I have always explained it is if I go into a showroom to buy a car they don't dim the lights as you want to see in full color detail what you are buying. I don't think there is anything wrong with using proper lighting when taking coin images and proper lighting to me does not mean ambient light in the living room but rather under a light source. Where I draw the line is the crazy oversaturated images most sellers use on Ebay to sell their coins...that's just flat out misrepresenting a coin and is criminal in my opinion.

+1. This is exactly what I've been wanting to write for the past day or so but haven't had a chance to. We all know that coins look better if they are properly lit and worse in typical, ambient room light. This came up earlier in this thread and I don't know why it's still being discussed.

I agreed with this post of yours 100% but I think the word "juiced" was not the best word to use because it implies what Krypto (Shane) has just pointed out.

Here's an example of different lighting and it's effects. Pretty rude and basic illustrations but you can see my point clearly. 1st pic of the reverse is in a light flood, similar to the lighting conditions used in my previous post.... think I burned my eyebrows snapping this picture... Anyway, the reverse toning is black just about every way you look at it except under heavy light,,, in heavy light the black area presents blues and reds that this picture does not fully capture. The last picture of the reverse is more like what the coin looks like under what I'd call nomial unfocused coin viewing light... in ambient light, it's pretty much black with a brown line sperating the black from the silver field. The obverse is in sunlight and is a fair representation of what the coin looks like in that lighting. It's a pretty coin and one of my favorite toners.

I think your monsters have everyone thinking $$$$$$'s. I am going to "Price is Right" you and go with $49.

No offense baha, but that coin wouldn't even get me to stop and look at it on E-Bay.

; ) none taken... I'm sure we'll see many coins in this thread that hit everyone's plate a bit differently. The seller of this one had a relatively poor pic on the 'bay, but said in the text that it reminded him/her of the waters in the caribbean.... It was a good descriptor of the color... ocean green / blue, and it reminds me of the waters down there also. So a nice coin for me to enjoy,, I really like the color. and I can get 100 more of them for the price of some of the other toners in this thread, which from an investment persepective (which is part of my collector makeup), helps me spread the risk and increase my bullion holding 100x over someone with that one neon monstor. Anyway, salt's in my blood and Capt Jack Sparrow himself approved this coin as worthy of the most descriminating sea loving collector... I may even sent it to him to get his trademake green jelly bean RUM sticker.
