I just bought a 1944 myself not that long ago. I found it a difficult date to find in 67 for a Philadelphia from the 40s. Anyway, a typical NGC in 67 will run about $1100. I am going to guess you paid 1350. Nice subtle toning but the tiny spots and toneless reverse limit the premium. A nice coin for a stubborn date. Did you get it from Mark Feld (looks like his photos).
I won't be here in the morning when the 24 hrs is up, so the winner is Coinman0456. I paid a $1200 even. You're up Coinman0456.
Is anyone keep track of who's getting the most right ? Would be interesting to see who has the best flavor of the market among us...
Okay Thank you. Once again, I would like to ask, " Who has not had a chance to post a coin in this thread " ? P.S. That was a really good buy at that figure. That's a keeper in my book !
Thanks. Sort of felt good that all the guesses were considerably above what I paid for it. I was afraid people would start guessing in the $800 - $900 range.
I'll post one; thanks. This one might not be to everyone's liking. I bought it just a few months ago, NGC MS67. The spot on the forehead is not a toning spot; it's reflecting dark.
People may be out today, or watching football. I'll come back in a bit and give Oval my estimate on his coin, which I likes !
I really think that the colors on that coin are more vibrant and impressive in hand than that photo would seem to indicate. The MS67 grade makes outstanding luster a requisite and it appears good for the grade. The photo is very dark and not very flattering. The larger the price of the coin, the less the premium will be in relation to the wholesale price. If this was an MS64, it would command many multiples of wholesale. Since it is an MS67 with a wholesale price of $660, I will guess if drove between 1.5-2X wholesale. My guess is a cool $1,000.
I'm going to suggest that the bidding was a bit of a " frenzy " for this one, and jump over Lehigh's suggestion to $1, 245.00 I can imagine the winner placed multiple bids on this. How that equates to a toning premium, probably 2. X whlse. ? I'll bet that coin is very lustrous in hand.
A cool $1000. I'm on the road again, swilling beer at Dover downs casino and have no references with me so I'm shooting from the hip. 67 Morgs are out of my league so I don't really have a feel for a premium.
I should've mentioned this is a *, it might influence someone's estimate. I'll post the price around 2 PM tomorrow. Seasnake, Lehigh already posted $1,000, better slow down on those beers!
I was going to say, I thought this should have been designated a * . That's the reason behind my Bidding frenzy comment.
