For a better idea of prices, I would suggest looking back through the multiple pages of this thread for prior examples. One does not have to like toning (or ever pay for it), but the value these pieces bring on the market should still be something that can be recognized by all (within a certain degree as some examples blow past even optimistic estimates).

Toning premiums can vary wildly. I am not a big payer on toners as I have no desire to be the end user.

 

Not complaining, but if I knew that coin was in a PCGS Rattler holder, my guess would have been much higher.

The rattler certainly pushed the price up, but I believe it would reach $7,500-$10k even in a new holder. If sold now, I’d guess it would go for just as much if not more (and it very likely will be in a 66 or 67 holder the next time it’s offered).

Same here. I’d have guessed around $10k if I knew the holder especially as it would probably upgrade to 66. The 65 grade was why I held back
