And now for something completely different.
I will post 2 toners. As usual, the closest (sale price) guess wins the point. In addition, the person that guesses the closest to both coins (total) gets an additional point. For a total of 3 points possible on this one.
    (If @ddddd approves that is)

Both of these coins sold this year. What was the total sale price for each one ???

    1 - 1923 PCGS MS63+ Peace dollar
    PCGS guide price - $46
    s-l400 (2).jpg s-l400 (3).jpg s-l400 (4).jpg s-l400 (5).jpg

Next coin is a 1960 PCGS MS65+ FBL Franklin half dollar
    PCGS guide price - $300
    s-l400 (7).jpg s-l400 (9).jpg s-l400 (10).jpg

Again, guess total sale price for each coin. For a point each.
Whomever's guess total for both coins is closest to the actual prices wins a point also, for a total of 3 points.
The Peace dollar point winner should get next post privileges.

PS. I was unable to cover certs. So be honest please. :angelic:

Peace $875 Franklin $445 I like the peace and one of the few I’ve seen with attractive rainbow toning that looks natural

Completely agree. If only it was on the obverse instead, but still nice to see a Peace dollar with natural color progression.

I've seen the Peace Dollar a few times (once when it was in an NGC star holder). I haven't seen the latest sale. The Franklin is new to me (haven't seen it before). I think people are guessing low so far.

    Peace: $2,000
    Franklin: $900

It was mentioned that the Peace dollar was previously NGC MS63* CAC.
Don't know if it was attempted to CAC as a PCGS but apparently grade didn't change at all from the crossover.

It technically added the plus (63 to 63+), but the plus may have been for eye appeal.

NGC* grade is the equivalent of PCGS+ grade right ???
But i know I've seen coins with +, and *, and CAC !!!
    I confuse myself sometimes. :D

    Not quite.
The NGC + and the PCGS + are basically equivalent. Only NGC has the star.
At times the PCGS + is used for eye appeal (but according to their website it is supposed to signify a coin in the top 30% of the grade).

    For my clarification...
That's OK for them (PCGS) to use + for both top end of grade, and eye appeal/color ? What if a coin meets the criteria for both ?
NGC though, uses + for top end of grade, and * for eye appeal/color, and a coin may have both +, and * from them correct ?

That Peace Dollar represents the pinnacle of the genre at which point it drives insane prices. The Franklin is also impressive though the toning break on the bell should hold it back.

    Peace Dollar: $3500
    Franklin Half: $750
