This guess takes this round. I am not a fan of the toning either and cannot figure out how the bidding got driven up so high. It sold for $241.88 with the buyers fee. Hopefully the winner got a hat with this one as well.

 

Wow that definitely makes little sense but hey good for the consignor and I'm sure the buyer is happy as well.

I've seen quite a few unusually high results lately on GC.

 

Not a super pretty coin but has some nice color. Seems like a nice price though.

Right!!! Makes me want to send them a few of my mid-level toners. I guess its true, obverse toners win the day when it comes to Morgans. I guess they dont even gotta be that nice, just toned on the obverse.

It might work there, but I also suspect this holder was gassed. I saw the eBay listing and the seller had close to 100 other Morgans-all raw and clear AT. Plus on another platform (Instagram) a guy called out this eBay seller since he sold him some white Morgans (raw) that may have later popped up toned (again AT) on eBay.
