The toning on the 3CS looks like secondary toning and to my eye it is not very attractive, and certainly not impressive enough to generate any type of premium on a coin that is worth $4K with or without toning. In addition, toning on old proofs like this can hide surface flaws (hairlines) and negatively impact the mirrors, though the CAC sticker should ease those concerns. I'm going to say that the toning on this coin actually hurt the sale price and it sold on the low end of the PR64 range. $3,500
