$129 is the max I would have paid, cuz grey sheet on a 66 is $130

Beefer518 is right on. I paid $129.25 on Heritage including buyers premium. Not a monster toner but the obverse contrast is quite dramatic, perhaps a bit more color than the photo.

That's too funny. I agree with @ddddd that the photo must not be helping the coin, but the CAC does help it, so I just guessed what I would have paid. Cool.

Ok, I just got this one today. I didn't need it, and it was actually a step down from my other W/C (a 66), but I really liked the obverse toning. I actually 'modeled' the coin in my commem digital album to see how it looked before I decided to buy it (yeah, I'm a little weird). I also figured I'd need it if I ever won another 'Toning Premium Thread'. Seriously.

    1954-S Washing-Carver Commemorative - PCGS MS65
Sold at Heritage for $161 back in 2007.
    Current greysheet is $50 (wholesale)
    Numismedia retail is $73

    What did I pay?

Oh, and I'm in the middle of polishing the scratches out of the slab right now.

It seems that a lot of Washington Carver's come toned. I don't think it really drives the price up too much, so I will guess $85.00.
