I JUST rear ended some idiot who pulled out in front of me and then slammed on the brakes to turn left. Im in a 28,000 pound truck.
Believe it or not, the law in ohio says thats my fault 100 times out of 100 . If you hit some one in the arse, it is ALWAYS yer fault !!!

Well since you probably are going to be blamed for it, I hope you sent the car to the junkyard. Naturally, I hope everyone escaped injury.

As far as the law goes, that's probably the rule in most states. Makes it easy for lazy cops and troopers. No real investigation required.

 

Question, if you had a dash cam and recorded what happened, would you still be at fault in Ohio?

Ive heard of people beating cases like this with video or eye witnesses . Becomes a long drawn out court process and PIA...
Luckily noone was hurt and not much damage due to my cat like reflexes... we agreed to settle this privately, no cops/insurance. I think he may have been driving w/o glasses and was required to by law but thats just a hunch. The hillbilly auto body / paint guy my company contracts to is gonna make it like new. The damage was mostly 2 the spare tire cover hanging on the back of his Honda CRV. As i type this the Blue Jackets break the ice, and score the 1st goal against Winnipeg. Go BLUE JACKETS !

 

I can win this but it might not totally be fair ...it does not look like anyone else has the “secret” so explanation after the @Cascade reveal...
