Exactly once, in 1973, my family made a summer trip to the Ozarks, both sides of the state line, where my mom was from. I was a kid (just starting with low-end Roman, Barrack Emperors -4th c.), but it left an appropriately indelible impression. Will Never forget the old family friend we looked up, in his 80's. When we got to his place, he was sitting on the front porch, looking for a chicken hawk who'd been giving him grief. With a double-barrelled shotgun, easily 10 or 12 gauge, that had hammers. Thank you, even where we were from, those were antiques, already. The punch line was that he was complaining that he couldn't find spare parts for it. ...Yeah, it was educational. ...Can't say anything more intelligent about your Iberians than that they're very cool. Anyway, they're that! That's the two cents you get, for what they're worth.
...Not quite. No hat; it was summer. And I've got more beard than he did, especially after a month plus of antisocial distancing. But otherwise, pretty damn close. --Thank you, more 'damn' than 'pretty.' ...My desktop still has Windows 7 (with security software that's worth every penny). Just lately, I can get some traction with where he was coming from.
Edited: Hilariously, @ominus1 read my mind and beat me to it! This thread is great! I'm just waiting for a meme of that poor guy from Deliverance... Anyways, due to the hairs on his back standing up I always thought the wild boar looked like he was getting electrocuted! (Which is ironic as this guy had electrolysis):
