Periodically he will raid the album to buy cookies or something at school. <img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie1" alt=":)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" /> But I keep throwing state quarters into a bucket and at various times he&#039;ll go through and refill it.</p><p><br /></p><p>I got interested in coins when I was a kid because my folks had a bunch of foreign coins that I liked to look through. When my older son was working on his Coin Collecting merit badge he was the only one to bring international coins to the workshop.</p><p><br /></p><p>But to answer the original question, the coin that got me interested in coin collecting was a 1918 Lincoln cent that I got as part of my allowance.
