"The hills are alive.... with the sound... of MUSIC....!" Oh, sorry, I suppose you didn't want me to ACTUALLY sing, huh? Nice coin though!
Snuck one in on me now didn't ya Nice coin !! You keep this up and I'm gonna have to do sumpin about you
If my wife catches on to my purchasing spree I might just need room and board like the other Louisiana Katrina refugees up there in Utah
Nice coin!! It's all too easy to become hooked on these thalers you know so be careful. I have an example like it but dated 1789. Basically the same excepting minor differences to the reverse
Yes the device lines around the shields (I guess that is a correct term) appear bolder on yours and the date on my coin is so much smaller compared to yours I like the larger date. Can anyone give me the KM# and mintage figures if they are available?
The shield is a subtly different design, as is the mantle around it. The difference in the mantle is most noticeable at the bottom where it is a curve on my one but wavy on yours. Yours is KM 465 (Davenport #1265). Like most thalers of this time period, there are no mintage figures available.
Salzburg 20 Kreuzer. I came close to getting a Salzburg 20 Kreuzer, which was of a similar design to this Thaler,a few years ago.My boss sold it when I wasn't looking. Aidan.
Count Hieronymus von Colloredo is also known as the first patron of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whom he ultimately dismissed from his service with the words, "Mag Er geh'n, Ich brauch' Ihn nicht!" ("May he leave, I'll miss him not!") Obviously he did not have an ear for music
