I'm trying to figure out how that 1885-O toned naturally, and I'm not feeling it, so I'm going to go with AT.

Juiced photos and the obverse toning is sketchy but I still think it is MA.

The seller is notorious for juicing. I would need better pictures. It is probably darker and less vibrant in hand.

What if it looked more like this:? (Same photo with the color saturation turned down...)

If the coin really looked like that in hand then why did it not star? It would be a no brainer for a star if MA.

Interesting. This was in an old white anacs slab so it would predate that

The Morgan I’d say at actually. I think I’d was enhanced and not stopped so it turned too dark and terminal Especially with both sides looking that way. I just didn’t get the right feel from it.

I recall seeing a video on Instagram and it did have the crazy colors. And one of the Lincoln guys went after it but was the underbidder.

In terms of no star, we have all seen it happen on deserving coins (I’m not saying this one is deserving). In general, I’ve seen less stars on Cents (I wonder if NGC is more hesitant with copper as they think the color could keep progressing and the star wouldn’t be appropriate after some time?).

I am AT only because of the color tones.

As far as the heavy toning though, these late copper cents do tone nicely if left in the right environment. I happened upon a 50$ bag from a bank that was someone's collection dump years ago. Mostly mid to late 70's and 80's. They were some of the prettiest cents, All the coins had at least slight toning and about a 100 of them were heavily toned like the example above, but with colors that are much more acceptable.
To bad they had been through a coin counter because the gems had damage and the unaffected were around a 63 on average.

AT. I have never seen toning like that, naturally existing. Unless the photos are juiced, that just isn’t a natural looking color set.

Do you remember the IG moniker?

    Unfortunately I don’t.
I looked through several pages, but it wasn’t any of those people.
If I could find it, then I’d post the video.
