It’s for sale on E-Bay for $99.50, so I’m gonna say it does matter. I’m not saying it will sell for $100 but it will sell for something ridiculous for a 5¢ coin.

I agree with AT, weird colors and from what I can tell unnatural progressions.

 

This coin doesnt make sense to me though.
Why on earth would someone AT a beat up nickel? Why would someone submit this coin for grading even? What are they gonna make- $20 if there lucky??

 

Trial piece turned out better than expected is my guess.

Looks NT/MA to me. I wish mine looked like that.

 

I can see why someone would question the toning on the obverse, but to me it looks completely natural.

 

I do question that obverse. It seems to get by, but I think it's QC.

 

I'll say QT on the Peace; that mix of aqua/purple/green does not look natural to me, and the gold area on the obv is so sharply demarcated it looks painted on. But, I'm just an amateur, and if someone has a logical explanation for the toning I'd love to hear it.

It looks natural to me, of course, that’s why I bought the coin. I believe the colors match the second cycle of the color chart for toned coins as described here: http://www.1881o.com/assets/colorchart.jpg

 

NT on the peace dollar. Can tag me if you need one posted some time I have one that has a bit of color on it that is probably iffy

I looked at the color chart too, but I couldn't get it to fit, to my mind anyway.
