Thanks. The reverse toning was the biggest reason for the purchase. I thought the obverse was very nice as well, but it was the reverse that convinced me to add it.
No. The top one is just an avg dime for the seated hole in my type set. Bottom is a half dime I got from eBay because I liked the look of it. They just happened to be the same date/mm
Also related, the obverse of the second dime is the most typical example of a low-pressure New Orleans strike. It probably looked like that when it came off the coin press.
My bank teller found this one while cleaning out the coin sorter machine. He set it aside for me. I know it isn't the prettiest thing in the world, but it was free.
Small date Dollar I think. I know half dollar has a few variations. But the 1846 dollar I'm not sure if it's has a variety like small date.
