There are such places that make loans for the purchase of antiquities and artworks. Usually, though, its a case of "if you have to ask, you cannot afford it". A person I know who buys high end ancients told me once that many of the higher end dealers have such relationships with banks that the can extend to good customers. However, he said he spent about $400k over the course of 10 years before such a relationship was ever offered to him. Think if it similarly to a AMEX black card. They ask you, you do not ask them.
Can we leave politics out of this conversation? If I wanted that type of commentary I'd tune in the Fair & Balanced" cable channel.
I simply do not understand how that is political. I was alluding to America the last generation or so, not a certain time period. You are the one alluding to a certain political viewpoint, and your disdain of certain television stations.
Sounds like you worked for a living. Not rich, but debt free. One of very few. With credit becoming big in the 20s and 30s, families have been going down the bankruptcy chute like no other. I applaud you and don't call you rich, but successful.
Famous does not always equal rich. it seems like everyday another celebrity is going through foreclosure. I'm not rich nor famous! but I am a coin collector and a celebrity photographer. LOL
