I feel a little like Paul Revere ;)

I purchased a nice lot of Redfield / Paramount Morgan & Peace dollars a few weeks back & the coins are arriving back from NGC today.

If you care to GTG on these go for it .If not just enjoy the pics :)

Paramount was always a bit overzealous in their grading of these coins with most being MS65's

I just love when I can get my hands on these coins / slabs as many have toned nicely & usually appear quite natural.

To be fair to Paramount, when they graded these there were only 3 unc grades:

    60, 63 and 65

    However, all nice looking coins.

    ANA purchases?

I saw a dealer with a bunch of these, including a (supposedly) rare green holder.

Very true, So many of their 65's though receive NGC 63 grades now a days that I've ran across.

No, they were a collection that was a "walk in" to my shop.

    nice pick ups.

I see that those old holders gave nice rim toning.

    Good luck

Actually there were only two 60 and 65. And there were no "official" standards either. The first edition of the ANA grading guide was still five years in the future. Eventually Paramount did start using the 63 grade but they had to use red or blue label maker tape to put the 63 over the 60 on the insert inside the holders. (Red tape on actual Redfield coins and blue tape on Paramount stock coins in Redfield style holders.)

    Green MS-65+ holders are rare.

The 1891-S reverse is super clean. The toning on that 1892-CC is very cool. I also like the 1890-s with kind of a "dirty" look to it.

Do some of the Redfields have peach juice spilled on them, or is that the Binions?
