I saw your coin for $1000. I don't think that one is all that overpriced, frankly. As you said, the toning is extraordinary, and the toning on the OP coin is not special. There is a huge difference between $1000 and $2500 reduced to 2000, and a huge difference between true rainbow tone, and ordinary tone. It is a qualitative difference, and I do think that your coin meets that qualitative difference. I'd pay a premium for yours (looked it up when I saw the other coin) but I wouldn't for the OP coin. I don't think I would spend $1000 for it, as that is a 10x price differential between the toned and untoned coin, but if it were more like $400-500, I would not have an issue with that. The responses to you are stupid, as the coin is premium, but if they don't want it, they shouldn't buy it.

For most of the toners that I have gotten from Shane, I have paid a premium, but it was more like $20-50 per coin over market value. Basically, I felt that reasonable for toned common date coins, and that was what I chose to do. The more expensive toners that he has, I often pass on them, as it is a personal decision how much price differential is to be paid for the toning that one likes.

The last coin that I shipped via registered mail with a declared value of $2,800 cost me $18.55. That said, I offer free shipping on all my coins to avoid the headaches involved with trying to charge a S&H fee.

That's my point though. For that kind of money, it would be nice if the seller covered shipping. Still going to make out on profit.

IMO, he is unnecessarily risking get a negative feedback by charging for shipping.

If he finds someone willing to pay that price, I would agree with that.

I know I am late to this thread, but Good Lord.

That stupid coin is simply a fresh coin put into a 1960's half dollar board. For anyone to pay premiums for something as bloody common, (and one sided which I have always thought was ugly), toning like this blows my mind. What is next, huge dollars for toned 1964 quarters? Seriously, I have a ton of both of these coins in tubes. Who wants one for big money, I am sure we can work it out.

Dang, I know I have held my tongue lately on toning prices, but anyone stupid enough to spend big money on toned 1964 coinage, probably the very most common toned coins in existence, deserve to eat the huges losses they will have to eat when this craziness is over.

Exceedingly common coin worth basically melt.

I know, "but Chris, how do you REALLY feel about it?" :)

Edit: I posted this before I saw you talked about listing a 64 Paul. This tirade was not directed at you or your coin.
