    I also enjoy coins for these reasons. Here is a large Ban Liang I kept only for the reason it is heavily encrusted. Unfortunately the photo does not show the crystals and other smaller nuances (such as color), but it is truly enthralling in hand:

    And there are other types which are so subtle one would not realize but carry much history. There is a very rare series of coins issued by Prince Liu Pi, who was a nephew of Gao Zu, the founder of the Han Dynasty. They show what are called 'rain' marks and are very distinctive when you know what to look for. The only one in my collection:
