I was admittedly too harsh on this one. I agree with the grade upon second viewing. I got fixated on the chatter on the wing at 3:00 on the reverse
I almost bit on that, as well, when I was looking at the large glamour shot. Then I looked at the slab pictures. Heritage glamour shots don't do coins any favors.
I can forgive some of the abrasions in the luster, but I cannot bring myself to overlook the deep reeding marks on Miss Liberty's left shoulder.
I was 3/4 and the only coin I missed was influenced by a price guide. Shame on me. I graded the coin based on the price I felt it would bring to market instead of grading it as is. What a great learning experience. Thanks again for doing these. They are critical in growing a proper mindset and knowledge in the world of coin grading.
I saw quite a few marks that kept me at 65 a common late date and that’s the grade. The luster and fields are great. But I also saw that reeding mark too
