The early congress wanted to honnor George Washington by minting a coin with his likeness and he was repulsed by the idea stating only kings and tyrants had their portraits on coinage. His political opponents actually had coinage with his likenss minted to as we would say get under his skin (Wasn't legat tender tough).</p><p>We come a long way haven't we.</p><p> You can say the Barber series coinage was boring but who was she and did she carry baggage we can point back at in disgust? Then their are the golden age of coinage the St Gauldens, Morgan, Walker, Mercury, Indian head nickel and cent. Might not have liked any particular design but couldn't dig up any dirt on the individuals. We come along way from there haven't we? Now we have 2 slave owners one who trampled our civil right and one the did nothing but get shot!</p><p> I say take them all off the coinage and currency!
