    and a very tough coin

  4. 1916 barber dime, the most beautifully toned coin I own. Almost 100 years too! :) 20151001_013044.jpg 20151001_012850.jpg

Nice group of Dimes, thanks for sharing them.
I love the two Quarters. That 1905 is vividly toned and
the 1892 Ty 2 is subtlety toned, but both are really choice.
Sort of surprised the 1905 did not get a Star Rating at NGC.

I recently was able to cherry pick a collection called Surf City,
which belonged to Don Willis of PCGS. He consigned it to the Gals
at JJ Teaparty, who I have known since they both worked for
    Dave Bowers in Wolfeboro, NH.

I don't have images, yet, but here are the Quarters I upgraded to AU 58:
    1894-S, 1907-D, 1908-O ( RPD ) and 1908-S. I consigned the 1908-S in
AU 53 to PCGS to JJ Teaparty ( where I had originally bought it ).

I only bought one Half for my best Half Set: ( whose image I can't figure out
how to display here ) it's the 1898-S in AU 58. Really beautifully Amber toned
    with lots of luster.

Look at you guys, just buying MS Barber coins left and right. I wish I had some MS barbers, but I don't have any recent Barber purchases besides an unslabbed 1908-D dime you can find in the "What's it Worth" section.

Anyway, Barbers are real underrated and only look unattractive in worn down grades. In high grades, I like the design, even though Liberty might be just a bit man-like.

  18. It never fails, someone always has to come in a Barber thread and complain about how the design looks like a man or how ugly they are etc. As if it's never been stated before. :spam:

Back to the program, my newest half.

I don't mind the design but I don't love it either. I do like them when they got real nice color. I find barber coins to tone attractively And as a dealer better date or better grade coins seem to sell

    @Omegaraptor

I just noticed your 'tag line'.

Q: Why did the Buffalo Nickel and the Standing Liberty Quarter have to dance with each other?
A: Because they didn't have dates.
