    I've seen a couple of 1893 S's in this grade I've been keeping my eye on. I am looking for the 1892 O in a nice AU as well.

    pretty close in grade as well..mine was a ms60 or 61 I believe. I love au58 pieces that are a smidge away from MS. Save money and you can get such a good deal. I love it.

    That is pretty cool to see actually. That really does look a lot like my coin. Would be cool to have a grading set of Barbers that all look alike.

    A good friend had just listed this - on eBay - and didn't think I'd be interested...
    He sold me a MS Details {"92" raw coin of the same date - and thought I'd be
    content with that ... wrong....

    Here's the closest I have come to a nice AU+

    There is something about the Barber design I really like. It's quite a challenge to put together a set. Here is a recent pick up. I took angled photos to show the toning. Head on you can't see it so much.

    Then the 1912. This toning has changed a bit over the short time I've had it. One of the better shots I have of this coin. DSCN4043 (2).JPG DSCN4044 (2).JPG

    Barbers are addicting... I'm obsessed with them.... { as if you couldn't tell...}

    I like the angled shots showing off the toning. Two nice Quarters you bought.
    Congratulations.

    I spotted a MS - "V" Nickel I have been searching for in a moderate MS grade.
    Found this at Dave Kahn's web site { I was lured there because of an email he
    had sent me about an AU 58 Quarter - which I had already had an AU 58 of.}

    Well... here's a nice MS 64 / CAC that speaks for itself...

    Spotted this on Great Collections and it seems I was the sole bidder. This is a neat coin that not too many realize exactly why its so interesting.

    1892 Proof Quarters had two Reverse Dies. Type 1 and Type 2. Eagle's wing tip
    covers part of the E in United { Type 1 } and the Eagle's wing tip covers almost all
    of the E in United { Type 2 }.

    There were only 1,245 Proof Quarters { all Types } minted in 1892. Its been estimated that approximately only 10% were the Type 1 Variety. Here's a coin
    which as started off as a PCGS 65 - resubmitted and received a "+" Upgrade -
    and sent to CAC where it was green beaned.

    When it was a "65" it had a lower serial number { 25354700 } once it was upgraded, it received a new serial number { 29443590 } .... The MS 65 & 65+
    images were from Heritage. The 65+ / CAC images are from Great Collections.

    Looks like this is the start of a Quarter Proof Set....:happy:

    I spotted this "common" dated Quarter on a dealer's site and although I have a
    really nice 55 - I decided to spring for the 58.

    In hindsight, I think I should have sent in the 55 for re-evaluation.

    My 55: { Which is now CAC }

    Just a few words of thanks to all those who have posted a "LIKE" on my coins.
    I have forgotten how to do the same in return. But I do appreciate the time you
    all have spent looking over and discussing my sets.

    Happy Hunting !!
