    I believe the article was correct when they speculated that the group might have been brought back by a tourist of the Grand Tour period and did not leave Egypt for 1500 years after they were made.

    I agree. None of the other postulated theories makes any sense. This is a hoard only in the sense that later on they were put and stored together. There is almost no way they were discovered in Egypt like this, since the oldest ones are 200 years older and are effectively the same grade as the newer ones. Therefor, a tourist buying coins from various sources or finds, bringing them back to England and storing their "collection" together is the only real logical conclusion.

    I'm also siding with the Grand Tour theory. What we have here is a collection, as opposed to a hoard.
