Thanks again for the great contest. Coins arrived yesterday in perfect condition. So that's what a OBW roll looks like eh? From what I've gotten on Ebay, I thought the ends of the rolls were always just folded down! ;)

    Thanks again.

    1. The Battle of Kursk
    2. The "Phoney War" is the name given to the period of time in WW2 when, after the blitzkrieg attack on Poland, nearly nothing happened. Many people in Great Britain expected a major calamity, but the title "Phoney War" or the "Sitting War" summarizes what happened in Western Europe (nearly nothing). ;October 1939 - April 1940
    3. The Germans had a powerful railroad gun, nicknamed the 'Anzio Express', which was used to pound the beachhead from inland each evening. It was moved on a railway track, and was taken inside a purpose-built tunnel to protect it when not in use.

    EH:
I think it's just a funny glare/reflection in my photo. In hand and under the loupe it doesn't appear repunched. Very sharp, clean edges.

Ken: She sure is a pretty one indeed.

Craig: I didn't do anything too special to post such images. Took a few quick snaps with the camera in hand, not on a copy stand, only used the LED desk lamp and resized my images to 1600 pixels on the longest edge. Upload to Photobucket and copied the IMG tags for the image URL into the thread to post them here. Try Photobucket if you haven't already. Free accounts and image hosting. Thanks again for the gorgeous coin. Your generosity is very much appreciated. :thumb:
