Welcome To Cointalk Based on your pic I would have to say your coin is PMD ( post mint damage) not a mint error. JMO Dave
Even if a detailed picture shows that it starts off from lincoln’s hair? It gets pretty detailed if the focus was at the starting point and also shoes double die on the obverse on the date.
Can you provide an up close detailed IN-FOCUS picture of what you state ? the images are awfully blurry and shows significant damage after the minting process. Where in the minting process do you think this has happened to a cent that has been around for 40 years ? It's obvious it was put up against something that was spinning.
Agreed - the obverse apppears to have been worked with a butane pencil torch + tool and the reverse with some sort of mini grinding wheel - high effort, little gain
Since it appears more oval than round, I think it is a small jeweler's handpiece being used to make or practice a holder for a bracelet or such for a cabochon opaque stone such as agate or other. You make the little prongs to bend up and surround the stone and hold it...or maybe not..
