I was thinking of cents there. And yes, Miss Longacre did stay on the cent until 1909.:smile

With the language used in the description on E-Bay, I wonder why the coin only has a MS66 grading?
As expected of the MS66 grade, the present piece has booming luster. There are no visible marks or spots. The strike is very sharp. For pedigree purposes, we note a tiny area of russet granularity near the reverse rim at 3 o'clock. Light gold toning is present on the left reverse, and to a lesser extent on the left obverse field. Given the superlative quality and immense rarity of the present coin, the opportunity for the Lincoln cent specialist cannot be overemphasized.

And I didn't see any mention of the "hit" on the T. Nice call David.

On a side note, Heritage has a 96.3% feedback rating? Isn't that a little low for such a reputable company?

I didn't mention the "U" in TRUST has two hits in addition to the nicks on the coat collar and Lincoln's cheek . Also there seems to be a general toning (finger marking) on the reverse from top to bottom on the ON ( of ONE), EN (of CENT), TED ST (of UNITED STATES) and AM (of AMERICA). I'm not saying the coin isn't beautiful, but I think MS-66 is probably right, although a buyer could probably argue -65 or even -64.
Is the "S" mint mark upside down?

Most on-line auctions seem to have poor feedback - mostly due to syncing live bidding with the internet. However, most of Heritage's sales on eBay are done through hnai.com and their feedback is 99.6

A lot of the bidding on the live auctions appears to not go through to their system which results in the negatives. I myself have never bid on a Heritage Auction on eBay(too cheap to pay the 20%) but I have in a pinch on other auction houses eBay auctions and noticed the same problem.

If you bid on Heritage Auctions, I find their site much more user friendly, plus you save the 5% commission by going there directly. So far I have been very pleased with my Heritage transactions and have picked up some pretty rare stuff on there.

Ebay is cancelling all " Live" auctions soon, Heritage included.

Actually I believe they plan on moving them to a different section or site and they won't appear in the regular searches. So they will "cancel" them from their regular site but they will still exist.
