http://coinxrt.com/ https://coinweek.com/coin-shows/is-coin-expo-show-the-future-of-numismatics/ CoinX St. Louis MO This is a larger sized show, in my state! So I've always been looking for shows that are close enough to be able to go but also large enough to have variety. I've been to 4 shows, however they were all the same dealers, literally, and the same coins quite literally. The smallest one I ever been to had only 7 dealers. This show consists of not just dealers but representatives of TPGs and such. This is only about 4 hours away and I for sure am trying to attend.
I read the link & it seems to me that this show would be worth attending. However, it doesn't seem much different than other big shows. I think they may be giving too much credence to the aspect of "social networking". The real problem is that many people (including "serious collectors") have very busy lives, & the times & venues are not always convenient, especially for those in outlying areas. But if you can make it, certainly go - it should be a great experience & you can see many coins "in hand".
The Silver Dollar Expo that this is replacing has always been well worth one's time. Scotsman's is still running the auction.
