Will be ordering early , only problem is not opening the coins when I receive them, but I think the early coins are the best bet for the errors , since joining this forum I'am know looking for the error coins  , never did before, a hobby within a hobby
arms! Arms down! These guys live in old tobacco county. (Survivors are sellers, no longer users) They bid with eyebrows and tremors! Had a great time but I was wondering how such a Pre~release ended up outside Paris, KY so soon?
Sounds like it was a lot of fun , just the atmosphere alone must of been really cool . Your right about the pre~release & pre~sales that go on at these auctions, I've often wondered the same thing myself about how much stuff walks before hand.
so far the three lincoln roll sets were selling at e-bay above mint ask price. the LP4 should do well too.
I agree with you 100 % elaine , I believe the folks out there love this set & I think the LP4's will do very well in the market place
According to Dave Harper of Numismatic News the final Lincoln Penny ( Cent ) LP4 will be released in Washington D. C. on Nov. 12, 2009 :smile
Anything other than the rectangle postage stamp design flag.... Love the shield designs too! :secret: "look @ my pic"
Good luck should be a lot of fun , I just wish it would have been closer to the West Coast . The last time I spoke with the Mint I asked them , in jest, if there was a chance of releasing the last Lincoln penny on the West Coast , kinda got dead silence and NO as my answer
Would be nice to see it at The Mint, The Union Station Kiosk AND the Lincoln Memorial for release. I could get 40 or so rolls that way... (4 rolls limit per person, I go with 2 friends)
I think that the LP4 cent will do large #s. Too many people started to collect these 4 Lincoln 2009 cents and now they don't want to stop. While at a coin show in Sacramento last week a dealer was selling rolls of the lincoln coins. Each of these rolls were hand re-wrapped so loosely that, #1 Of course he went through all of them and #2- he wanted $6 for the LP1s and $4 for the LP2s & LP3s. I asked him if he had the LP1 in the OGP and he said that all those rolls have sulfur in them and thats why I re- wrapped them. He was so full of Stuff that I could see it comming out of his ears. Even though I am lacking the P & D Lincoln Cabin rolls I could not get myself to buy anything from him. He had "greedy" written all over his face. Next dealer..... Bruce
I've often wondered if some of those folks selling those rolls have already went through every roll checking for errors , even on ebay when buying the LP1,2,3 &4's from the mint you gotta wonder if those boxes have been tampered with
According to an article I read the LP4 ceremony will be held on 11/12/2009 at 10 AM, E.T. at the Ulysses S. Grant Memorial , located at the base of the U. S. Capital in Wash. D.C.. The U. S. Mint anticipates this will be the largest attended ceremony of all the previously launched Lincoln cents :smile , so save me a place
What a birthday present to give yourself , pre-happy birthday, If I lived a lot closer I'd positively be there , should be a lot of fun :smile
Folks out there are mesmerized by the Lincoln pennys this year & I got to admit so am I , its been a celebration all year & I'm looking forward to next years new penny which will be announced on 11/12/2009
